T2 amp broke after two years.. advice please..

My T2 amp is build in a nicely compact and well shielded custom casing.

Used it a lot the last two years. Suddenly it sounded terrible and does not give the full audio spectrum.

opening it showed the C30 SMD capacitor on the underside of the board to be blown.

What could have caused this and could I try to just replace this capacitor? Will be hard thought, it burned away the island.

Any thoughts? I use use a meanwell smps 27V powersupply, 6Ohm speakers.
Hi. Sorry to hear about the problem. The C30 is a X7R 0.1uF(104) and 50V rated 0805 package cap, it's not hard to find. It could have been damaged due to over voltage, physical damaged or excess heat.
Thanks, it worked!
I'm building both units a new casing to have a four channel amp.
Another question; Is it good to connect the earth of my SMPS to the earth connection on the T2 board (and to my mains net filter)?
Or is it better to keep them "floating"?
Rava..

Glad to hear it worked !
About the grounding, both are ok, you can try both.
Grounding can sometimes lead to noise/bzz problems depending on what other equipment is used, and the electricity in your house.
